Poster
I stuck to three main base colours for the text blue, pink and grey this is because it shows the boy and girl theme with grey being a neutral colour in between. I have only done three colours because it makes the poster simple and the colour isnt overpowering the image. Then the characters clothing will be bright to exaggerate like one of the focus group members suggested to make it more comedy styled. The image will be simple like the members wanted with shocked faces and uncomfortable poses. But I also decided to swap the heads on the characters to put them on the wrong body so the audience can automatically see what the film is about but also gives a humorous style. This will make the poster look extremely different from other posters for example the freaky friday poster simply has the two characters in eachothers clothes so to make mine have a unique edge and making use of the technology in college to make the poster image look very complex. The poster will be a longshot so the audience can see all of the characters body, but also there eyeline will be in the middle third to suggest they are both equal to eachother but are also at correct eyeline to the audience looking at the poster suggesting it is a promotional tool that there 'looking and expecting you' to like the film. I did ask my focus group if they wanted to see a different style to the poster so I feel I have done this to there expectations, but the poster will be very eye catching to them and funny. But also one of the focus group members wanted the image to do all 'the talking' so the use of swapping heads instantly gives clues to the audience.
The text is bold and stands out from the white background and mainly in capital letters to emphasise its importance. But on the title its slightly different with Romeo being in pink to display hints of a change and him being more feminine but its also in fancy writing to make it more girly. However vice versa Juliet is in blue to give her a more masculine feeling but also its in like oldschool american sport type. This colour idea is shown on the its a boy girl thing poster which gives the audience knowledge of what to expect.
I have also included critics comment '4 star body swapping madness' to attract the audience as they may prefer to hear someone elses opinion of the film. But also rating shows the success of the film visually with the use of stars. I have also used the name of the main characters to attract attention as they will be known by the audience who will watch it. This was requested from the focus group to give the film a rating which would help the audience decide whether to see it.
However for layout it is very simple to make it easy to follow and read but also the use of the taglines 'its official she is the man' and 'he's attempted walking in her heels' to create some humour and to inform the audience it is a comedy. This question was included in the questionnaire to see if the audience thought a tagline would be essential and the overall outcome was that they agreed.
I have also included the certificate to meet the target market age but also the date its released, to just provide somemore information as this is always included on a movie poster, as the poster is an information element as well as for promotion.
Film magazine
Magazines use a three colour palette rule therefore I used the colour scheme dark pink, black and silver because my magazine is a general film magazine, so I wanted to make the colour scheme sophisticated and professional. This is a typical media magazine convention as most magazines stick to a three colour palette rule to give it a professional and distinctive look making it recognisable from other magazines. So for my magazine to look professional I will have to have a set colour scheme. But also due to there being more females who took part in my questionnaire and focus group I added the pink as part of the palette to create a more feminine look.
There are various images on the page as I wanted to keep a text and image balance, however for my main image it will be of my actors Bryony Killey-Scaife and Aaron Horsfield because magazines always use there main story to promote the magazine to engage interest from the audience, I haven't decided on the shot type yet but I will most likely make the image more of a medium shot once I tried various shots to make the perfect image so we can see the characters facial expression. Although at the bottom of the magazine I have used the idea of the old fashioned movie film tape to make the magazine authentic and instantly indicate to the audience the style of the magazine and makes the magazine look sophisticated to match the colour and then placed images of other stars from upcoming films of 2011 featured in the magazine.
The first image will be of a horror film where we see a closeup of half of someones face, the second image will be a longshot of a group of groups from different social groups featuring the title misfits. The third image is of my sister being a movie star which will also be a longshot featuring a red carpet background. But also in the questionnaire I put forward the question 'what part of the magazine appeals the most?' and one of the ideas was images so I tried to get a lot of imagery in there to make it interesting to look at.
In terms of text the title will spread right across the page 'REELTIME' I have put this in pink to make it stand out from the image and picture so the audience will remember the name. I have used play on words too, since Real has been replaced as REEL like a film reel and then time was added as films and magazines take up your time and create entertainment. I made this choice because the use of play on words makes it catchy and more memorable to the audience. I have also included sell lines to keep a text/image balance but also to promote more of what is in the magazine to make it look jampacked and worth buying. For the main headline I have put the title of the film bigger and in pink so the audience will automatically see it and then read the rest of the writing which explains what the title is. All magazines have sell lines and a main headline to place information for the reader to know what is included in the magazine but also to compliment the images on the front page, to indicate what is going on in the image.
The layout is simple but interesting with plenty of images to see and text to read, it is easy to read without anything being overlayered. I have also included special offers such as a competition to go to a premiere and free posters which also is to help grab interest as it was recommended by people in the survery and focus group. This is another convention typically used to to grab the audiences eye to read the magazine but also gives them an incentive to win a prize for buying the magazine, so the magazines could provide it for promotion but also as a reward. I have included simple things such as the date and price to just make the magazine look more professional and inform the reader. These are typical conventions magazine companies provide so the reader is well informed of when the next issue is but to see if the magazine is in there price range. I made my magazine £2 as my main target group is 13 to 18 year olds in the socio-economic class C1 and C2 which can be seen on my target audience profile on my secondary research, so the price is affordable for the teenage group in a middle class society since at this age they will only be getting pocket money and if there lucky a job.

Very detailed flat plans, well done. It would be good to have more discussion of why you have made certain choices and relate to research, skills etc.
